vPrism Tutorials: Crop, Rotate, and Flip

vPrism Crop, Rotate, and Flip tutorial

Transcript

To use vPrism's basic framing tools, load a video and go to the Edit section of the Tool Panel and choose Crop, Rotate, or Flip.

For "Crop," start by drawing a rectangle or square over the area of interest.

The crop box appears with green handles. Move the box by hovering until the hand cursor appears, then dragging it into position, or adjust the size by dragging the grips at the corners.

Enable "Constrain Proportion" to lock the shape of the crop, then choose a common aspect ratio from the dropdown menu or enter custom dimensions.

When the crop box is in the desired location, click Apply to commit the change.

For "Rotate," use the radio buttons to rotate the video 90 degrees left or right, or 180 degrees, or use the slider for fine adjustments.

The green grip overlaid on the video can also be dragged to adjust rotation.

The grid overlay helps align verticals and horizontals. Click Apply to add the rotation to the history stack.

For "Flip," choose Horizontal to mirror the image left to right, or Vertical to turn it upside down, then click Apply. This is useful for correcting mirrored videos or matching the perspective in other evidence.

These tools enable quick cleanup of composition and orientation while keeping the video ready for further analysis and presentation.
