This course is offered in a hybrid format with pre-recorded modules and live office hours each day at 10 am PT, which are optional.

The course runs from May 4th through the 8th, consisting of four days of instruction and fifth day reserved for completion of projects, office hours, and the final evaluation. Students can expect to spend six to eight hours per day on the material, excepting the fifth day, with generally requires one to two hours.

TRAINING RESULTS

Mastering photogrammetry is becoming increasingly crucial with the ubiquity of crash videos (surveillance, dash cams, Ring® doorbells, etc.) and cell phone photography, which is frequently used by both law enforcement and civilians to document vehicle damage and roadway evidence, even when measurements were not acquired. Most modern, complete reconstructions demand the use of photogrammetry; whether it’s used to accurately establish the speed of a vehicle from video, to diagram roadway evidence, or to model crush after a vehicle has been salvaged. Investing in your photogrammetry skillset will not only enhance your firm’s capabilities but also your career, empowering you to perform thorough analyses and deliver the most comprehensive reconstructions.

This course equips the reconstructionist with a solid understanding of photogrammetry and current techniques through review of literature, sample evidence, and extensive hands-on exercises. Attendees will learn to confidently:

  • Measure crush when the vehicle is no longer available for inspection

  • Use scene photos to diagram roadway evidence

  • Integrate point clouds into your analyses

  • Work with advanced features of PhotoModeler

  • Establish vehicle speeds using video through several methodologies including:

    • Reverse Projection

    • Surface Draw

    • Passing Points

    • Line of Sight

  • Analyze dash cam video for speed determination using PFTrack

  • Interpret PhotoModeler quality reports

  • Create compelling graphical exhibits

  • Confidently testify to results

By the end of this course, you'll not only understand photogrammetry's fundamental principles but also how to apply them effectively in real-world scenarios.
