TRAINING RESULTS
Attendees will learn how to take scene/site measurements, export video frames, analyze metadata, and perform passing points and line of sight photogrammetry analyses. Controlled test videos, created using a Reolink surveillance system and an instrumented vehicle, are used throughout the module to illustrate the photogrammetric methods. Results from each method are compared to the true vehicle speed to illustrate accuracy and sensitivities.
Topics Discussed:
- DVR Settings
- Acquiring scene/site measurements
- Exporting frames losslessly
- Examining video for dropped frames
- Analyzing metadata for frame timing
- Calculating speed with Excel
- The passing points method
- The line of sight method
- Performing sensitivity analyses
Software Discussed:
- Kinovea
- VLC
- FFmpeg
- Google Earth
- Nearmap
- Amped FIVE
- CloudCompare
- PhotoModeler
- Virtual CRASH
- Rhinocerous
